The Samaritan Counseling Center held our first ever community conference on January 18th. Our topic was unfortunately—and tragically—very timely. We discussed the region’s Opiate Epidemic with an audience of clergy. Speakers from across disciplines offered strategies and techniques to help those addicted or families of those addicted. Resources were shared and insights were offered. A recovering addict shared an inspiring message of redemption and hope. Ultimately, the day provided the group with a renewed spirit in ministering to those affected by the scourge of addiction.
Another conference is planned for this coming March.

I am so pleased that Samaritan Counseling Center is taking steps to educate clergy on the opiate epidemic.
I attended the one on January 18th and felt it was so well done and so beneficial.
My question at this time is will the conference offered on March 28th be basically the same. Or will it be more a continuation of the prior conference? Different speakers?
Thanks again for all you are doing,

Thank you Bette Sue, we feel it is such an important issue that needs to be addressed. I’m sorry we did not see your comment until after the fact. The next conference will be dealing more with affected families.
